Millican-Ogden is one of the oldest communities in Calgary. Its name originated from two individuals:
W.J. Millican, a lawyer and land developer, who's plan was to develop the new area (although he was not the one who actually developed it), and;
I.G. Ogden, the former Vice-President of the Canadian Pacific Railway
With the construction of the Ogden Shops in 1912 – 1913, the area gained the distinction of being the only CPR repair shop between Winnipeg and Vancouver. Millican-Ogden is located in the SE, and, due to its long history, is home to several vintage homes including the historic Ogden Hotel now known as the Victory Centre. The area also contains public and separate schools, numerous restaurants and strip malls. In addition, there is plenty of open space in the area, particularly in the Bow River Valley.

Incorporated
Millican Heights Community Association incorporated under the Societies Act on April 23. Harry Hurish 1st President.

1958
Community Centre
Volunteers began constructing the Community Centre building. First the lower hall then, by 1960, upper hall was completed.

Millican-Ogden
Millican “Heights” Community Association was changed to Millican “Ogden” Community Association on Jan 30.

1972
Annex
The annex was built. Originally used as dressing rooms for the outdoor skating rink, now the annex is used for the MOCA offices & Mo’s after school program.

Jack Setters Arena
Indoor ice rink building constructed and named after Jack Setters - an avid volunteer in the Calgary Minor Hockey community.

25th Anniversary
Celebrating 25 years as a community association on June 23.

Founder of Millican Ogden Community Association leaves our community in body but lives on in spirit.

100 Year Flood
On June 19, a “100 year flood” occurs shutting the city down. Lower Ogden residents affected, community pulls together.

60th Anniversary
In recognition of MOCA’s 60th year as a community volunteers & residents celebrated with a pancake breakfast, carnival and car show.
